According to European standards EN 12006-3 and EN14299 we determine the following stent dimensions:
	Inner diameter of the stent after expansion The inner diameter of the stent is an important measure regarding the effective blood volume. It depends on the recoil and the uniformity of the expansion. It is necessary to measure the inner diameter of the stent after recoil. Calibrated cylindrical gauges with a tolerance of 0,01 mm are used within the relevant diameter range.
	Outside diameter of the stent after expansion The outside diameter of the stent after expansion is determined in the course of the examination of the structural behavior. The outside diameter is averaged over the entire stent length after recoil. It is also possible to evaluate the distal, the middle and the proximal part of the stent separately, according to EN 14299.
	Length of the stent after expansion The length of the stent after expansion is determined after conclusion of the examination of the structural behavior with a digital caliper gauge. The measurement is carried out under a microscope.
Further stent dimensions, not demanded in the EN 12006-3 and in the EN 14299, result from the examination of the structural behavior, for instance the crimped stent profile, an important measure for clinical application.
